About The Position

The Pediatric Vascular Access Team is seeking a clinically skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to provide expert vascular access care for pediatric patients from neonates through 19 years of age. This autonomous and collaborative role requires the ability to work independently while partnering with interdisciplinary teams across multiple patient care environments. Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • PICC certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
  • Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
  • Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
  • Assessing patients for appropriate vascular access.
  • Coordinating and performing PICC line insertions (including recommendations for procedural support when indicated).
  • Performing ultrasound-guided peripheral IV insertions.
  • Serving as a vascular access resource by providing education, mentorship, and bedside consultation to nursing staff regarding peripheral IV insertion, vascular access device selection, ongoing assessment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and management.
  • Participating in evidence-based practice initiatives, quality improvement projects, and interdisciplinary safety teams to advance pediatric vascular access practice and improve patient outcomes.
