About The Position
PM Pediatric Care is the largest pediatric urgent care network in the country, founded and led by pediatric emergency physicians. Our mission is to provide high-quality, convenient, and accessible urgent care for children and young adults as an alternative to the emergency department. We are academically driven, offering practice guidelines, CME-accredited lectures, a national conference, and data for research. We foster a supportive environment with individualized learning programs, including procedural training, radiology interpretation, and an evidence-based approach to illness/injury. Our centers are set up like EDs in a private practice setting, equipped with on-site x-ray and lab services, excellent support staff, and access to specialty consultations. We handle high acuity cases with a diverse case mix and maintain strong community relationships and an outstanding reputation. The work schedule is flexible, with no overnights, and offers a variety of roles from 12-36 hours per week (PT/FT).
Requirements

- Excellent computer skills and experience with EMR (eCW experience preferred).
- BC/BE in Pediatrics.
- Urgent Care or Emergency Department experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess and treat acute injury and illness for both in-person and telemedicine patients, including managing febrile infants/children, ear/nose/throat infections, pediatric abdominal pain, anaphylaxis, procedural anxiolysis, respiratory distress, croup, and asthma.
- Perform procedural care such as abscess drainage, foreign body removal, and laceration repair with sutures, staples, and dermal adhesive.
- Take radiographs and provide preliminary interpretation of x-rays (in applicable states), with official radiology over-reads provided.
- Oversee in-person and telemedicine patient flow and daily office functions, including oversight of other providers, staff, and trainees on shift.
- Maintain operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes to the management team.
- Work with onsite and telemedicine teams to ensure completion of daily tasks, including lab and radiology result review, patient follow-up, and timely responses to patient calls and questions.
- Maintain a safe, secure, equitable, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing safety procedures, quality standards, and complying with legal regulations.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Update knowledge and skills through internal training, continuing education, professional publications, and participation in professional organizations.
- Assist the clinical team and patients with complaints and take an active role in service recovery.
- Focus on efficiency metrics to improve in-person and telemedicine urgent care flow, antibiotic stewardship, and patient experience.
