About The Position

Join our Early Supports for Infants and Toddlers team at Children’s Village! Our team is comprised of a diverse group of dedicated professionals that incorporate many general and specialty lines of service. We have a strong mentorship program and encourage new graduates to apply. Children's Village is a neurodevelopmental center providing over 30 different specialty services to children with special healthcare needs. Children’s Village was built on the dream of combining partner agencies to assure services for children with special needs and has been serving the Yakima Valley and Central Washington since 1997. MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital, a not-for-profit organization, is one of the founding partners. Ultimately, we are a place for children to be children first. The Speech Pathologist is an exciting opportunity at MultiCare, providing clinical services and communication with patients, families, and other professionals/service providers in the medical community. This professional position will allow you to apply your extensive knowledge and expertise in of speech pathology with all of your patients.

Requirements

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Hearing-Language Association OR be in the process of completing a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) with supervision by a CCC-SLP in accordance with standards defined by the ASHA
  • Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Washington or holding an interim permit
  • Current BLS Certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Experience as a Speech Language Pathologist preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, interpretation, and reporting of clinical observations
  • Perform patient assessments with physician and develop treatment plans
  • Perform and interpret results of Videofluoroscpic swallow studies and fiberoptic endoscopic of swallowing
  • Confer with physician and other health care professionals
  • Serve children 0-18 years of age
  • Provide in-person services in the outpatient clinic setting as well as in the home/community settings
  • Pending experience, services may also be provided in the hospital
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team of OTs, PTs, SLPs, early childhood developmental specialists, nurses, social workers, and behavioral therapists
