About The Position

The Staff Speech Language Pathologist, Speech Pathologist II, reports to the Rehab Service Manager and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The Staff Speech Language Pathologist II works primarily with pediatric and adolescent patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, although adult patients may also be treated. Under general direction and upon receipt of written referrals, the Staff Speech Language Pathologist II plans and administers a full range of speech therapy services for patients who are deaf and hard of hearing. Services include patient evaluations using speech language pathology tests and measurements, establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs, and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing all aspects of the speech language pathology scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Must have a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Must possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Must hold a valid California Speech-Language Pathologist license.
  • Experience working with pediatric and adolescent patients.
  • Experience working with patients who are deaf and hard of hearing.
  • Proficiency in conducting patient evaluations and developing treatment plans.

  • Experience with diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
