About The Position

Leaps and Bounds Pediatric Therapy is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their Speech Therapy team. This multidisciplinary outpatient private practice offers Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services in a traditional clinical setting and also incorporates hippotherapy. The practice emphasizes family-centered care, 1:1 patient interaction, and collaboration among disciplines. They are a growing organization with locations in Norco & Corona, providing substantial support, training, and continuing education opportunities for employees. Requirements

  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Experience in pediatrics
  • Ability to perform assessments and interpret evaluations and test results
  • Ability to determine speech therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription
  • Ability to carry out treatment plans
  • Ability to help patients accomplish goals and use therapeutic devices and strategies
  • Ability to complete discharge planning
  • Ability to document patient care services according to the law
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Ability to adhere to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Ability to maintain professional and technical knowledge
  • Ability to comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements
  • Ability to participate effectively as a member of the IEP team

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent family-centered patient care, supporting functional goals and needs of the patient and their family.
  • Perform assessments and interpretation of evaluations and test results.
  • Determine speech therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
  • Carry out treatment plans to support functional improvement across the lifespan.
  • Help patients accomplish goals outlined in treatment plans and effective use of therapeutic devices and strategies.
  • Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers.
  • Contribute to patient care conferences.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, according to the law.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect clinic operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Develop speech therapy staff by providing information and developing and conducting in-service training programs.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Participate effectively as a member of the IEP team, providing services as part of a comprehensive education plan and in accordance with the written IEP, as needed.
