About The Position

The Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist position requires experience in the evaluation and treatment of children with various speech and language disorders. Additional experience with feeding and swallowing evaluations and pediatric modified barium swallow studies is preferred. The Speech-Language Pathologist plans and implements individual and/or group speech-language pathology treatments. The Speech-Language Pathologist collaborates with other disciplines to arrange for appropriate follow-up care, and coordinates with outside providers and specialists.

Requirements

  • Requires a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Requires a current license and certification as required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and ASHA.
  • ASHA membership required.
  • Requires a current CPR certification.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence required.
  • Requires analytical abilities sufficient to evaluate patients' condition, capabilities and progress to develop appropriate treatment programs.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to be socially perceptive in accepting and relaying confidential information, communicating policies and procedures, and interacting with patients, families and various members of the health care team.
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office.
  • Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work.
  • Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of social, racial and ethnic populations.
  • Must be able to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information.
  • Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu, as well as receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience with feeding and swallowing evaluations and pediatric modified barium swallow studies is preferred.
  • Experienced therapists encouraged to apply.
  • Bilingual or multi-lingual skills (beyond that of English) appropriate to the patient population served is a plus.
