Patterns Behavioral Services has a need for a per-diem Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist Consultant at our Orange County clinics - Brea and Garden Grove. The role involves conducting screenings, evaluating patient conditions, and crafting tailored treatment plans that enhance vital speech skills. The Speech Pathologist will work closely with patients, listening to their unique needs and developing personalized strategies to ensure top-notch care. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Proven work experience as a Speech Pathologist or similar role
  • Provide consistent weekly availability minimum 1 full day or two half days per week
  • Strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments
  • Excellent coaching, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers, especially patient and healthcare databases
  • Attentive and caring with the ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Relevant training and/or certifications as a Speech Pathologist

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with certain conditions or working with specific age groups may be preferred

Responsibilities

  • Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events
  • Keep detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress
  • Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals
  • Provide direct services in home and clinic setting
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team within Patterns Behavioral Services (direct staff, OT, BCBA, etc.)
  • Work closely with families to support generalization of skills learned within speech sessions
