Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), is hiring Pediatric Registered Nurses (RNs) for a long-term outpatient clinic assignment at Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock. This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy patient education, preventive care, and building lasting connections with children and their families. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program (ADN or BSN required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent pediatric outpatient, clinic, or ambulatory care experience required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of RN experience
  • Minimum of 1- 2 years of recent pediatric care experience
  • Outpatient/Clinic experience required
  • Must be a U.S. citizen living primarily in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a federal security clearance
  • Active, unrestricted RN license (any U.S. state accepted)
  • Current BLS & PALS certification required
  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with EHR systems required
  • Required immunizations must be up to date

Nice To Haves

  • Experience administering pediatric immunizations and routine screenings preferred
  • Previous experience with Indian Health Services (IHS), Tribal Health, or underserved populations preferred
  • ACLS preferred
  • Previous IHS experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a pediatric outpatient/ambulatory setting
  • Perform triage, patient assessments, and care coordination
  • Administer immunizations, medications, and treatments
  • Assist providers with exams and minor procedures
  • Educate families on wellness, preventive care, and treatment plans
  • Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care
