About The Position
Shriners Children’s is seeking a full-time Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Inpatient Services I team. The RN is responsible for coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. This role supports professional nursing practice across various settings and the continuum of care to meet patient and family needs. The RN will operate within the Shriners Hospitals for Children Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), which involves planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The practice of the RN is based on the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. The RN will provide leadership through roles such as preceptor, informal and formal leadership, and quality improvement efforts. The RN will delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability. Excellent communication skills, mentoring, and teaching abilities are essential. The RN may also participate in committees or projects. Requirements
- RN license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor in Nursing
- 2 years Acute Care Nursing
- PEAR, PALS, ACLS: Obtain within 1 year of employment as required by hospital
Responsibilities
- Collects and analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis/issues
- Identifies expected outcomes and develops a plan that prescribes strategies which address health promotion and restoration, health maintenance, or health related problems or issues and alternatives to attain expected outcomes
- Implements the identified plan and coordinates care delivery
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment
- Integrates evidence and research findings into practice
- Applies the principles of professional codes of ethics that ensure individual rights in all areas of practice
