About The Position

Inova Children’s is seeking a dedicated, compassionate Pediatric Pulmonology Advanced Practice Provider to join a growing pediatric physician team caring for a diverse pediatric population. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a nationally recognized children’s health system and contribute to the continued expansion of comprehensive pediatric specialty care throughout Northern Virginia. This full-time position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital is Northern Virginia’s only dedicated children’s hospital and serves as a regional destination for comprehensive, family-centered pediatric care. Located on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, the nationally recognized 241-bed children’s hospital provides advanced care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents across more than 45 pediatric specialties. Inova Children’s offers some of the region’s largest and most comprehensive programs, including nationally recognized programs in cardiology and cardiac surgery, neonatology, gastroenterology and pulmonary care. Our multidisciplinary teams are dedicated to delivering innovative, compassionate care tailored to the unique needs of younger patients and their families.

Requirements

  • For Nurse Practitioners: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post-masters certificate program for nurse practitioners, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing.
  • For Physician Assistants: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • If Nurse Practitioner: RN Compact License (depending on State of primary residence).
  • A license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • A "Practice Agreement" signed by sponsoring/ supervising physician(s).
  • A written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician.
  • "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.
  • Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors.
  • Ability to be enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor.
  • Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services.

Nice To Haves

  • Board-certified/eligible in Sleep Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient/outpatient care for congenital/acquired airway & lung diseases, as well as sleep disordered of breathing across hospital and outpatient clinic settings.
  • Complement an accredited Cystic Fibrosis Center (part of the CFF Therapeutics Development Network) and work with multidisciplinary clinics via the Inova Children’s Complex Care model.
  • Dual-practice at the Inova Children’s Sleep Center (for candidates board-certified/eligible in Sleep Medicine).
  • Teach residents and medical students.
