About The Position

The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Emory University Department of Pediatrics invite applicants for an open-rank faculty position in the Section of Psychology. The center is a national leader in pediatric cancer, hematology, and bone marrow transplantation. The psychologist will join a multidisciplinary faculty and care team serving children, adolescents, and young adults with hematologic and oncologic conditions. This full-time faculty position may devote up to 80% of effort to patient care and 20% to research. Clinical responsibilities include assessment, brief intervention, consultation-liaison services, and outpatient therapy for children and adolescents with health concerns across pediatric hematology and oncology. The psychologist will participate in interdisciplinary evaluations, treatment planning, consultation with medical colleagues, and education. Clinical effort may be reduced for candidates with a strong scholarship and extramural funding record who obtain grant funding to cover clinical effort. The position offers opportunities to participate in clinical research and program development, and to provide training and supervision to psychology graduate students, interns, and fellows. Work is generally performed in person at an Emory University location; remote-work days may be granted at departmental discretion, and Emory may change remote-work status with notice.
