About The Position

Anderson Hills Pediatrics is seeking an experienced Pediatric Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA) to join their integrated pediatric practice. This role aims to expand access to high-quality behavioral health care for children, adolescents, and young adults. The position offers an opportunity for an experienced psychiatric provider to work closely with pediatricians, families, therapists, schools, and other members of a multidisciplinary care team. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of clinical psychiatry experience, with substantial experience evaluating and treating children and adolescents. Comfort with psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, evidence-based psychopharmacology, controlled-substance prescribing, and longitudinal medication management is essential. The role particularly values a provider confident in managing patients with complex psychiatric needs, including antipsychotic medication management. The practice is open to full-time and part-time arrangements and creative clinical roles within the provider's scope of practice. Dual-trained or certified candidates, such as PMHNP/FNP, are especially encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Ohio APRN license (for PMHNP candidates)
  • Current national board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Across the Lifespan (PMHNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) (for PMHNP candidates)
  • Current DEA registration and eligibility to prescribe controlled substances in Ohio
  • Minimum five years of clinical psychiatric experience
  • Demonstrated experience treating pediatric and adolescent patients
  • Current, unrestricted Ohio Physician Assistant license (for PA candidates)
  • Current NCCPA certification (for PA candidates)
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality, professional ethics, and applicable regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for pediatric and adolescent patients
  • Diagnose and manage psychiatric, behavioral, developmental, and emotional conditions
  • Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based psychiatric and behavioral health practices
  • Provide longitudinal psychiatric medication management
  • Prescribe, initiate, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications, including controlled substances and, when clinically appropriate, antipsychotic medications
  • Evaluate and treat ADHD, including stimulant and non-stimulant medication management
  • Manage common pediatric psychiatric conditions including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and other psychiatric conditions
  • Monitor treatment response, side effects, laboratory results, screening instruments, and other relevant clinical information
  • Provide brief therapeutic interventions, supportive counseling, psychoeducation, and medication education as appropriate to your scope and training
  • Partner with parents and caregivers in developing and monitoring treatment plans
  • Collaborate closely with pediatricians, therapists, nursing staff, schools, specialists, community providers, and other members of the care team
  • Coordinate care for children and adolescents with complex medical and behavioral health needs
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case consultation, quality improvement, and clinical program development
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation in the electronic health record
  • Practice in accordance with applicable federal and Ohio laws, professional standards, and organizational policies
