Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy is a multidisciplinary outpatient private practice seeking a licensed Certified Occupational Therapist to join their team. They offer a collaborative practice environment with one-on-one treatments, supporting coworkers through teamwork and fostering an inclusive and positive atmosphere. Clinicians utilize a variety of tools to make sessions effective and fun, with an expectation of 70% direct patient care, mentoring, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The practice provides Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services in a traditional clinical setting and on a ranch incorporating hippotherapy. Requirements
- Licensed Certified Occupational Therapist
- Experience in pediatric occupational therapy
- Ability to perform assessments and interpret evaluations and test results
- Ability to determine and carry out occupational therapy treatment plans
- Ability to administer manual exercises and instruct patients in physical activities
- Ability to administer occupational therapy treatment and direct treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants
- Ability to complete discharge planning and design home exercise programs
- Ability to document patient care services according to the law
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Ability to adhere to infection-control policies and protocols
- Ability to ensure operation of equipment and perform preventive maintenance
- Ability to maintain professional and technical knowledge
- Ability to comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements
- Ability to participate effectively as a member of the IEP team

Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent family-centered patient care, supporting functional goals and needs of the patient and their family.
- Perform assessments and interpretation of evaluations and test results.
- Determine occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription and carry out a treatment plan that supports functional improvement across the lifespan.
- Help patients accomplish goals outlined in the treatment plan and effective use of therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as functional skills, sensory activities, and daily-living activities.
- Administer occupational therapy treatment and direct treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
- Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare workers; contributing to patient care conferences.
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, according to the law.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect clinic operations by keeping information confidential, according to the law.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Develop occupational therapy staff by providing information; developing and conducting in-service training programs.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Participate effectively as a member of the IEP team, providing services as part of a comprehensive education plan and in accordance with the written IEP.
