About The Position
MedCare is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team. This role involves performing in-depth patient evaluations, developing treatment plans, and administering therapy to improve patients' abilities for independent function. The therapist will educate and train families on OT techniques and collaborate with the MedCare team to ensure quality care. Opportunities are available for new graduates, and experience in pediatrics and bilingual skills are a plus. Supervision of assistants is also a plus but not required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school program of Occupational Therapy (OT)
- Licensed to practice as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in Texas by anticipated start date

Responsibilities
- Performs in depth patient evaluation and develops treatment plans and goals as indicated for patients based on their current level of functioning and potential for improvement
- Evaluates patients’ needs and administers therapy to preserve and improve abilities for independent function, such as range of motion, strength, tolerance, coordination, vision, behavioral management skills, social skills, academics, and activities of daily living.
- Implements treatment plan, provides state of the art Occupational Therapy services in accordance with the Plan of Treatment (POT) approved by the physician
- Educate and train families about various OT techniques and strategies
- Collaborate with the MedCare team to ensure quality care
- Open to supervise assistants is a plus but not necessarily required
