About The Position

Occupational Therapist (EI/CPSE) $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment with active cases (10hour/week minimum). This role involves working in a state-of-the-art Sensory Gym in Baldwin, NY, primarily during afterschool hours (4-7p) with flexible scheduling. The position can be either full-time or fee-for-service (FFS), depending on the caseload, which will be discussed during the interview. The company, Family of Kidz, has been helping children with special needs from birth to adulthood since 1998, focusing on teaching skills for greater independence and an enhanced quality of life.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited university with a degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current New York State Occupational Therapy License

Responsibilities

• Design and implement creative individual and/or group therapeutic interventions for all children on your caseload
• Administer and write up occupational therapy evaluations
• Ongoing communication with lead supervisors & coordinators, specifically related to case management
• Maintain professionalism with families, school teams, and other professionals
• Maintain accurate and timely attendance and billing logs
• Create and maintain schedules with assigned individual families/school personnel
• Collects data on each IFSP/IEP goal and reports on progress quarterly
• Provide input and attend/teleconference initial CPSE/CSE meetings and/or annual reviews
• Perform comprehensive evaluations in clinic, home and/or preschool based settings
• Write detailed occupational therapy evaluation reports demonstrating the child’s abilities and areas of difficulties
• Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and the evaluation team
• Develop appropriate functional goals using IEP direct
