About The Position

Tanner Health is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Tanner Urgent Care Pediatric clinic. The practice will be located inside the Tanner Health Pavilion in Carrollton, Georgia. The role requires treating patients from newborns to 18 years of age and offers excellent clinical, administrative, and management support. Tanner utilizes the EPIC EMR system wide and offers a competitive hourly rate with a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • Completion of Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or master’s degree from accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Two years of experience in pediatric nursing preferred
  • Active GA license or meet criteria for obtaining licensure
  • Six months of related experience
  • Georgia Nurse Practitioner License
  • Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse or Multistate Nursing License
  • Healthcare Provider (CPR)
  • Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events.
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Georgia
  • Graduate of a recognized program for Nurse Practitioner training (MSN).
  • Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians
  • Must maintain high degree of confidentiality.
  • Must meet credentialing criteria.
  • Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician.
  • Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS recommended.
  • Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.e. ACLS, PALS)
  • Prior experience in a like specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Communicates effectively with patients and management regarding service recovery opportunities. Works together with other team members to achieve Office and System customer service goals.
  • Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties. Participates in continuing education. Participates in the development of new programs (ex: Process Improvement, Quality Initiatives).
  • Performs evaluations, provide treatment and counsel patients. Order and interpret test results and recommend treatment of patients. Administer therapeutic procedures. Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval. Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures. Demonstrates specialty and population specific competencies. Demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate based on specific specialty and population. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising physician.
  • Maintains evidence based medical care and clinical charting. Participates with clinical tracking and feedback. Integrates with clinical and administrative teams to administer high quality care.
  • Works well with others and functions as a team player. Offers ideas and solutions for issues that affect the team and work area. Participates in the training and skills development of new clinical staff. Assists as needed.
  • Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
  • Supervises a small section of employees (up to 15), orients and trains employees, schedules, assigns, checks, and maintains flow of employees' work, carries out most personnel decisions, and initiates minor personnel actions.
