About The Position

The UHS Pediatrics Vestal Medical Center is looking to add a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to our Pediatric group practice. This is a full-time, exempt position and we are seeking an experienced Pediatric NP or a new graduate with Pediatric Nurse Practitioner training. The NP will provide general medical care and treatment to patients in our medical facility, under the direction of a physician. They will perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of a physician. The role involves providing primary care to patients, collaborating with and under the direction of physicians in the clinic, following established standards and practices. The NP will assist with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations, and educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments. Responsibilities include conducting physicals, ordering tests, and serving as a patient’s primary healthcare provider. The NP will also order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and healthcare needs, record physical findings, and formulate plans and prognoses based on patient's condition. They will discuss cases with physicians and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans and may refer patients to physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.

Requirements

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree
Possession of an NPI (National Provider Identification) number
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program
Three (3) years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting
Current NYS Registered Professional Nurse License
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certification
Current NYS Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) license and certification with New York State Education Department
Documentation of current CPR certification required within one (1) week of hire, with maintenance of current CPR certification during employment
Certified Prescriptive Privilege in NYS
Must be board certified and licensed in the state of New York.

Possession of Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (BNDD) Number

Responsibilities
