Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
About The Position
We are seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens position at an outpatient community health center in Puyallup, WA. This role involves providing clinical-only care for newborns through pediatrics, with approximately 16 patients per day. The coverage period is for 3 months, with a possibility of extension. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch. The facility utilizes the Epic EMR system and offers onsite pediatricians, behavioral health support, dedicated medical assistants, receptionists, mental health therapists, dietitians, and a healthcare administrator.
Requirements
- Active Washington NP license required
- BC/BE required
- Active Washington DEA required
- BLS required
- Clean Record
- COVID and Flu vaccinated
- Proficient with Epic EMR
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience in outpatient community health or vulnerable populations preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care for newborns through adolescents
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions
- Document patient encounters accurately within Epic EMR
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary support staff and providers
- Deliver compassionate care to vulnerable and diverse patient populations
- Perform pediatric wellness exams
- Handle sick visits and acute pediatric care
- Administer preventive pediatric care and immunizations
