About The Position

Pinon Health Center needs a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide professional medical services supporting the mission of the Indian Health Service (IHS) in raising the health of American Indians and Alaska Natives. This role involves providing acute and chronic primary care, as well as urgent care services, in an outpatient setting. Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • Must possess a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license.
  • Must undergo a character investigation in accordance with the Indian Health Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act (Public Law 101-630).
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Interview and examine patients, review medical history, and perform or request diagnostic tests.
  • Make preliminary diagnoses, prescribe treatments, and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Evaluate, stabilize, and transfer patients presenting with conditions such as sepsis, myocardial infarction, fractures, and pediatric illnesses.
  • Serve as a member of the "code team" during life-threatening "code blue" situations.
  • Coordinate with allied health professionals (social workers, health educators) and refer patients to specialized facilities when necessary.
  • Maintain timely and accurate electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with Joint Commission standards.
