About The Position

Nemours Children Hospital in Orlando is currently seeking an APP to join our Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The APP will function in an expanded collaborative role to provide comprehensive, complete management of patients in the EMU under the supervision of the MD. The APP will be responsible for care from admission to discharge and will demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills in all phases of practice. All functions of the job are subject to change based on departmental needs. The schedule will typically be two weeks EMU, one-week of inpatient care with call and one week of clinical work. The schedule includes the night calls and inpatient neurology coverage over weekends.

Requirements

Current unrestricted Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License to practice in the state of Florida (for APRN Candidates).
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification via National Certification Center (Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care Certification required) (for APRN Candidates).
AHA BLS and PALS upon hire (for APRN Candidates).
FL DEA (for APRN Candidates).
Current unrestricted Physician Assistant License to practice in the state(s) in which privileges are sought (for PA-C Candidates).
National Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for PA-C Candidates).
AHA BLS & PALS upon hire (for PA-C Candidates).
FL DEA (for PA-C Candidates).

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, complete management of patients in the EMU under the supervision of the MD.
Responsible for patient care from admission to discharge.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in all phases of practice.
Perform night calls and inpatient neurology coverage over weekends.
