As a PACU Nurse, you will play a vital role in helping our young patients wake up gently, safely and with comfort after surgery - while reassuring families that they're in the very best hands. Additional responsibilities include being a partner in the care management team, providing coordination and management of patient care to pediatric patients and families within a continuum of care and delegating patient activities as appropriate within a care management assignment. Functions within professional and hospital standards.

Requirements

  • Two years or more of prior nursing experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or a BSN (or equivalent academic and/or professional experience).
  • A current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Knowledge of the principles of neonatal, pediatric and adolescent growth and development and child/family responses to fear, illness, injury and hospitalization.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
  • PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • A BSN is preferred.
