About The Position

KidMed is seeking passionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs), including new graduates and those early in their careers, to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to grow clinical skills in a supportive pediatric urgent care environment. You will work alongside experienced providers, receive hands-on training, and gain confidence in treating acute pediatric needs from birth through age 25. The position involves performing various procedures, treating a wide range of conditions, and utilizing in-house clinic services for treatments like IV fluids and lab work. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program.
  • Valid license (or eligibility) to practice as a NP/PA in the state of Virginia.
  • Valid DEA License (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (or willingness to obtain before start date).
  • Interest or experience in pediatrics.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in emergency or urgent care is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Treat patients from birth through age 25 with acute needs.
  • Perform procedures such as laceration repairs, incision and drainage of abscesses, reduction of finger/toe fractures, foreign body removal, and ingrown toenail treatment.
  • Treat fevers with work-up down to 29 days old.
  • Manage anaphylaxis treatment and respiratory distress.
  • Address cardiac issues, chest pain, abdominal pain, vomiting, and bloody stools.
  • Treat Genitourinary, Neurologic, Ortho, and Derm conditions.
  • Utilize in-house clinic services for suction, DME, IV fluids, blood draws, injectable medications, and lab work.
  • Provide support for direct admits and navigation of specialist referrals.
  • Collaborate with local pediatric specialists for follow-up care.
