About The Position

KidMed is seeking passionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA), including new graduates and early career professionals, to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to grow clinical skills in a supportive pediatric urgent care environment. We have full-time and part-time positions available at our Richmond, VA locations in Mechanicsville, Midlothian, and Short Pump. You will work alongside experienced providers, receive hands-on training, and gain confidence in treating acute pediatric needs from birth through age 25. The role involves performing various procedures, treating a wide range of conditions, and utilizing in-house clinic services for treatments and lab work. We also provide support for direct admits and specialist referrals.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program
Valid license (or eligibility) to practice as a NP/PA in the state of Virginia
Valid DEA License (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
Interest or experience in pediatrics

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in emergency or urgent care is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform procedures including laceration repairs/multilayer closures, I&D of abscesses, reduction of finger/toe fractures, foreign body removal, and ingrown toenails.
Treat patients for conditions such as anaphylaxis, respiratory distress, cardiac issues, chest pain, abdominal pain, vomiting, and bloody stools.
Manage genitourinary, neurologic, orthopedic, and dermatologic conditions.
Utilize in-house clinic services for suction, DME, IV fluids, blood draws, injectable medications, and lab work.
Provide support for direct admits and navigate specialist referrals for same/next day follow-up.
Work with patients from birth through age 25.

Base pay starts at $40/hour and increases up to $60/hour based on relevant experience.
