About The Position

Children’s Mercy Kansas City is seeking a board-certified/eligible child neurologist with a focus in headache medicine to join our multidisciplinary Headache Section. Our division is committed to clinical excellence, education, and research and is continuing to grow. We are looking for a candidate who wants to spend time with patients, communicates well, and embraces patient and family-centered care philosophy. The duties of this position are primarily clinical although there is flexibility based on applicant’s history and future career interests. Requirements

• Board-certified/eligible child neurologist.
• Willingness to be vaccinated for seasonal influenza.
• Willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005.
• Share commitment to excellence, integrity, collegiality, antiracism, and respect for inclusion of individuals with diverse backgrounds.
• Share values and enthusiasm for service.
• Ability to maintain professional relationships with fellow employees, patients, parents and visitors.
• Pass a criminal background investigation.
• Pass a drug screen upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Completed a Headache Medicine Fellowship.
• UCNS certification in Headache Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Primarily clinical duties with flexibility based on applicant’s history and future career interests.
• Engage in patient and family-centered care.
• Contribute to clinical excellence, education, and research within the Headache Section.
• See over 8,000 children a year in a timely manner with comprehensive services.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans including medication management, procedural interventions, biofeedback, acupuncture, neurostimulation devices, and psychology support.
• Participate in research opportunities, including pediatric clinical trials and investigator-initiated research projects.
• Enter all headache patients into a migraine research database.
