About The Position

Nemours Children’s Health is seeking a Pediatric Nephrologist to join their growing team of three physicians in the Delaware Valley. This role offers a blend of inpatient pediatric care at a state-of-the-art Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware, with access to all pediatric subspecialty services and academic opportunities. It also includes outpatient clinic settings in Wilmington and Abington, Pennsylvania. The position involves a 1:4 call schedule at Nemours Children’s Hospital and precepting residents and medical students. The division collaborates with pediatric rheumatologists, urologists, radiologists, and a pediatric kidney transplant program. The role supports the continued growth of Nemours Children’s Health in the Delaware Valley, with busy outpatient practices and strong ancillary support. Research and teaching opportunities are available, with an academic appointment from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. The division offers a full spectrum of pediatric nephrology services, including management of acute and chronic kidney disease, plasmapheresis, all modalities of renal replacement therapy, and kidney transplantation. They have a dedicated children’s dialysis unit and innovative clinical programs such as ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, telemedicine, William’s syndrome clinic, sickle cell disease clinic, and kidney stone clinic. The division is actively involved in multicenter QI and research collaborative studies, providing ample clinical research opportunities. Teaching responsibilities include medical students and pediatric residents. Requirements

  • Eligible for unrestricted Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey License
  • Have completed a Pediatric Nephrology Residency
  • ABPN Certified/Eligible in Pediatric Nephrology
  • Collaborative practice style which supports clinical training, research experience and education for medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare worker

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the on-call schedule as 1:4 call at the Nemours Children’s Hospital.
  • Precept residents and medical students in their clinics in rotation with the other attendings.
  • Provide a complete range of inpatient and outpatient pediatric nephrology services.
  • Manage patients with acute and chronic kidney disease.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient plasmapheresis services.
  • Manage all modalities of renal replacement therapy (CRRT, PD, and HD - with and without ECMO).
  • Participate in kidney transplantation.
  • Engage in teaching medical students and pediatric residents from the NCH residency program.
  • Contribute to the continued growth phase of Nemours Children’s Health in the Delaware Valley.
