About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner ensures comprehensive, efficient health care through planning, directing and providing care within a multidisciplinary health team.

Requirements

• Newborn delivery and resuscitation experience required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required prior to start date or obtained during orientation
• MS: Nursing (Required)
• NP - Nurse Practitioner Certification - NYS Office of Professions
• RN - Registered Nurse - NYS Office of Professions
• Compassionate, warm, and patient-focused
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Exceptional documentation skills and professional behavior
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Establishes a medical diagnosis; orders and evaluates diagnostic studies; monitors therapeutic procedures and manages follow-up plans.
• Follows established neonatal nursing standards, procedures, and practices, and provides patient care direction to nursing and other staff.
• Implements plans of care in a safe, effective, and professional manner.
• Identifies and prioritizes the teaching and learning needs of patients and families.
• Facilitates the efficient delivery of neonatal care.
• Performs therapeutic and corrective measures within neonatal expertise in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.
• Communicates effectively with administration, physicians, nursing staff, and other professionals.
