A Pediatric Mental Health Counselor is responsible for providing assessments, determining the appropriateness of service, and providing direct treatment services. Must also complete paperwork and provide case management functions as needed. Performs an integral role in carrying out the mission of Compass Community Health by conducting diagnostic assessments, determining patient appropriateness for service, and gathering information on individuals to identify strengths, weaknesses, needs, and problems for treatment plan formulation. Conducts intensive individual counseling sessions, ensures patient care flow, and verifies treatment plan appropriateness and implementation. Provides written documentation of patient activity, develops treatment plans, and updates for compliance and billing. Initiates correspondence and paperwork related to assessments and patient service reports. Provides input to the treatment team regarding treatment plans and patient progress, meeting with clinical staff and Medical Director for review and consultation. Offers case management services, including community linkage and resource development. Ensures all services, business processes, and operations are managed legally, ethically, and in accordance with the highest professional standards and best practices. Implements and upholds organizational policies, ensuring operations align with the mission and Board of Directors' direction. Ensures operations comply with accreditation standards and corporate policy. Completes periodic competency testing and maintains adequate training for high-quality clinical care. Ensures a safe environment for patients and employees through adherence to safety policies, education, and drills.
