About The Position

The Division of Critical Care Medicine at Nemours Children’s Hospital Delaware is seeking a Board-eligible/Board-certified Pediatric Intensivist to join their team. This physician will be directly involved in patient care within the 24-32 bed pediatric ICU, managing patients with diverse medical, surgical, and trauma-related critical illnesses. Responsibilities include daytime clinical service and in-house nighttime call, overseeing patient management, performing procedures, and educating residents, fellows, and other trainees. A collaborative, teamwork approach with nursing and ancillary departments is expected for family-centered care. Academic interests in research, informatics, quality improvement/patient safety, education, or administration/operations are required to enhance clinical expertise and expand Nemours' impact. The PICU at Nemours utilizes a multi-professional, multi-specialty collaborative care model that is patient- and family-centered. Requirements

  • MD, DO or equivalent clinical doctoral degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME Accredited Pediatric Residency Program and a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program.
  • Board Eligibility/Certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
  • Eligibility to obtain valid DEA and unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Delaware.
  • Demonstrable area of academic pursuit in research, informatics, quality/patient safety, medical education, health services, and/or administration/clinical operations to complement clinical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Direct involvement in patient care in the 24-32 bed pediatric ICU.
  • Management of patients with various medical, surgical, and trauma-related critical illnesses.
  • Daytime clinical service and in-house nighttime call responsibilities.
  • Overall direction of patient management and procedures.
  • Education of resident, fellow, and other trainees.
  • Working closely and professionally with nursing and ancillary departments.
  • Academic interests in research, informatics, quality improvement/patient safety, education, or administration/operations.
