Connecticut Children’s serves as the primary pediatric teaching hospital for the University of Connecticut, School of Medicine, has a teaching partnership with the Frank H. Connecticut Children’s is looking for a BE/BC Pediatric Intensivist to join our critical care team in our 18 bed PICU. This is primarily a clinical position, but the ideal candidate will be expected to be involved in other activities, such as teaching, quality improvement, clinical program development, etc. Our philosophy is to provide evidence-based, high-intensity, family-centered, compassionate care. The hospital has an independent pediatric residency program. We are also responsible for teaching Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellows and medical students. We see a commitment to teaching as one of the core values of our division - a pediatric facility that delivers vital and lifesaving care for children and their families throughout the region.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Three years of pediatric specialty residency training.
  • Three or more years of fellowship training in pediatric critical care.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics
  • Board eligibility/certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
  • Ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Connecticut.
  • BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association / Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with experience or training in pediatric cardiac intensive care are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
