About The Position

This role is for an Inside Sales Representative within Abbott's nutrition business, focusing on pediatric nutrition products. The assignment is intended to be 12 to 24 months long and is designed to train and develop high-performing internal sales representatives for future roles in the Abbott Nutrition Field Sales organization. The representative will gain experience with Abbott's comprehensive nutrition products, brand portfolios, and marketing practices. The role is located at the Nutrition corporate office in Columbus, OH, and requires the representative to be willing to relocate to cities throughout the country for a U.S. Field Sales force position after completion of the assignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferred in Communication, Business, or Human Ecology/Food and Nutrition.
  • Currently live or will be able to relocate to Columbus, OH for your time in the role.
  • After completion will transition into a field sales representation role within the U.S.
  • Must be willing to relocate to cities throughout the country to obtain a U.S. Field Sales force position.
  • Demonstrate effective selling skills.
  • Have a knowledge and passion of Abbott Nutrition products.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and use of marketing databases.
  • Results-Oriented / Will to win.
  • Adaptability and coachability.
  • Personally aware of and perform in a manner in compliance with all federal, state, and corporate regulations regarding Abbott Nutrition products, including the Corporate Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Working with Pediatric Nutrition product line: Similac®, PediaSure®, and Pedialyte®.
  • Develop effective selling skills by phone selling to field customer account locations.
  • Manage assigned field territories, including coverage of active vacant field territories.
  • Receive coaching feedback regarding professionalism and call quality to enhance selling skills.
  • Manage monthly budgetary responsibilities for the respective territory.
  • Participate in Field Sales force training, marketing promotions, and product extension program training.
  • Receive mentorship from internal and field members for continued skill development.
  • Participate in field events such as sales leadership meetings and program conventions.
  • Positively influence the product decisions of Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).
  • Manage HCP concerns regarding pediatric nutritional products, patient conditions, patient education, reimbursement issues, and continuing education credits.
  • Conduct sales presentations and manage sample allocation.
  • Manage a territory budget and utilize budgetary guidelines to bring maximum benefit to the customer and Abbott Nutrition.
