About The Position
BrightStar Care of Carlsbad is seeking an experienced, compassionate Pediatric Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) for an ongoing in-home infusion case located on Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. This position offers a consistent Wednesday schedule (8 AM–4 PM), with the potential for additional per diem nursing assignments based on your availability and our patient needs. This is a great opportunity for an RN with strong pediatric infusion skills and experience accessing and managing implanted ports who enjoys providing meaningful, personalized care in the home setting!
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted California RN license
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric infusion nursing experience required
- Strong IV skills and hands-on experience accessing and managing implanted ports/CVADs
- Experience with medication preparation, reconstitution, and IV administration
- Reliable availability every Wednesday from 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Current BLS certification
- Current TB and physical clearance
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 2 years of overall nursing experience preferred
- Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and patient care skills
- Military base/gate access is helpful but NOT required
Responsibilities
- Providing pediatric infusion care in the patient's home
- Preparing and administering prescribed IV infusion therapy
- Accessing and managing implanted ports and CVADs
- Assessing and monitoring the patient before, during, and after infusion treatments
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Communicating with the patient's family and BrightStar Care clinical team
- Following all infection control, safety, and nursing protocols
