This position provides inpatient pediatric/newborn care in 2 primary venues. The Pediatric Hospitalist cares for pediatric patients referred by the emergency department, urgent care and primary care provider, then returns care of the patient to the primary care physician at the time of discharge. The hospitalist is responsible for managing the care of pediatric inpatients and works collaboratively with nurse case and care managers, care coordinators, consulting and primary care physicians and other facility-based healthcare professionals who comprise the patient s care team. Pediatric sedation service, sedating pediatric patients for noninvasive medical procedures and imaging studies in-person and telemedicine consultative services for our on-site emergency department(s), urgent care locations and outlying facilities In addition to pediatric care, we manage a newborn nursery, attend high-risk deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitation/stabilization as needed.
