JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Pediatric Hospitalist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Oxford, MS • Service Setting: Inpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Coverage Period: June 5, 2025 – June 30, 2026 • Clinical Shift Schedule: 7:00a – 7:00p and 7:00a – 7:00a (24-hour coverage on select dates) • On-Call Shift Schedule: 7:00p – 7:00a • Call Type: In-House • Call Ratio: TBD • Call Response Time: TBD COVERAGE DATES • June 10–13, 2025 (24-hour coverage) • July 21–24, 2025 • November 26–30, 2025 • December 30–31, 2025 • January 1–5, 2026 • January 12–18, 2026 • February 4–16, 2026 • March 13–15, 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Pediatrics and Neonates • Patient Volume/Census: Up to 24 inpatients • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Included • Phone Consults: As clinically appropriate • Case Mix: General Pediatric Inpatient Care FACILITY INFORMATION • Office Equipment Available: Fully equipped inpatient pediatric unit • Specialty Backup Available: Hospital-based specialty services • Support Staff Available: Nursing and hospital support staff • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Management of general pediatric inpatient cases • Neonatal stabilization and management • Standard hospital-based pediatric procedures JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Mississippi Medical License • Board: Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics or American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics (within five years of post-graduate training) • DEA: Active Mississippi DEA Required • Certifications: Current PALS and NRP Certifications • Experience: Inpatient management of at least 24 patients within the past 24 months • Other Qualifications: Successful completion of an accredited Pediatric residency program DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide comprehensive inpatient pediatric hospitalist services • Perform daily patient rounds and admissions as assigned • Manage acute pediatric and neonatal cases • Provide night call coverage as scheduled • Collaborate with primary care physicians and hospital staff to ensure continuity of care
