About The Position

This locum position provides inpatient pediatric and neonatal-perinatal coverage on a call-only schedule, with 24-hour beeper call shifts running from 6 AM to 6 AM. The provider will primarily care for NICU patients down to 32 weeks gestational age, manage newborn resuscitations, and care for 32-week preemies and older. The caseload is approximately 80% NICU patients and 20% pediatric patients. The provider must be either a pediatric hospitalist with a solid background in neonatology or a neonatologist comfortable managing pediatric cases. Neonatal UVC and UAC placements are permitted; central line insertions outside this neonatal context are not practiced. Pediatric intubations and chest tube placements in the emergency department are usually performed by ED physicians and anesthesia providers.
