About The Position

The Ward Family Heart Center at Children's Mercy Kansas City is seeking a full-time Pediatric Hospitalist to join their team. This role involves providing inpatient clinical care within the dedicated Acute Care Cardiac team, participating in multidisciplinary rounds. This team cares for infants and children with congenital, acquired, or complex cardiovascular conditions requiring intermediate level care. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with sub-specialty teams, cardiology dedicated APRNs, medical students, cardiology nursing, nutrition, PT/OT, pharmacy, social work, care management, and more. Day and evening coverage should be anticipated.

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Trainees in their final year of residency are welcome to apply
• Board Eligible or Certified in Pediatrics
• Experience and interest in pediatric Cardiology

Nice To Haves

• Residency trained pediatrician with interest in cardiology to provide care for infants and children with congenital, acquired, or complex cardiovascular conditions

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibilities will center on inpatient clinical care within the dedicated Acute Care Cardiac team, participating in multidisciplinary rounds.
• Care for infants and children with congenital, acquired, or complex cardiovascular conditions requiring intermediate level care.
• Work with sub-specialty teams, cardiology dedicated APRNs, medical students, cardiology nursing, nutrition, PT/OT, pharmacy, social work, care management, and more.

• Anticipate day with an emphasis on evening coverage.
