About The Position

The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team in a unique, highly collaborative role caring for children with complex hematologic and oncologic conditions. Requirements

  • Master of Science Degree and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current Maryland Nurse Practitioner licensure and specialty certification
  • DEA and CDS eligible
  • PALS/BCLS certification as required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Nurse Practitioner experience required

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluate, diagnose, and manage pediatric hematology/oncology patients with physician collaboration as needed
  • Manage chemotherapy treatments according to established protocols
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic testing
  • Perform invasive procedures including bone marrow aspirates
  • Coordinate complex care plans to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and safe patient care
  • Serve as a key liaison between the healthcare team, patients, and families
  • Integrate evidence-based practice and research into clinical care delivery
