About The Position

At Wee Care Pediatrics, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, top-tier care to children and peace of mind to their families. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Pediatrician (MD/DO) or Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our Layton team. If you are looking for a predictable, alternating weekend schedule that allows for excellent weekday flexibility-or a high-impact role to supplement your current practice-we would love to meet you! We warmly welcome both seasoned professionals and enthusiastic new graduates.

Requirements

  • Active (or eligible to obtain) Utah State Medical, NP, or PA license, along with a current D.E.A. Certificate.
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatrics (MD/DO) OR current certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (with pediatric experience).
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to build fast rapport and bring a comforting presence to children and parents alike.
  • Ability to meet standard malpractice insurability requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in pediatrics or a related urgent/primary care field is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality primary and acute care to pediatric patients ranging from newborns to adolescents.
  • Perform thorough physical exams, accurately diagnose and treat illnesses, perform minor procedures, and prescribe medications in accordance with Utah statutes.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (laboratory, imaging, EKGs) and manage timely follow-ups.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families on wellness, growth milestones, and disease prevention.
  • Partner with our robust team of nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to deliver seamless, comprehensive care; arrange external referrals when necessary.
  • Maintain thorough, timely, and compliant patient records within our electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • (For MD/DO candidates): Provide clinical oversight and collaboration for our dedicated mid-level practitioners.
