About The Position

In a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, contributes professional and clinical expertise to assigned patient populations to ensure the delivery of high quality care. Scope of practice will encompass: Expert clinical practice, Expert guidance, Research, Leadership (clinical, professional, and systems), Education.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program as determined by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.
  • Current Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Hold a valid, current New Jersey Physician Assistant licensure.
  • OR Education and Accreditation or a current Registered Professional Nurse and Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program/Masters in Nursing.
  • Current Certification for Advanced Practice Nurses a current Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and Registered Nurse First Assist (RFNA) certification if assisting in OR.
  • Hold a valid, current New Jersey license.
  • Board certified and credentialed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (PNP or FNP) or Physician Assistant in the State of New Jersey.
  • Requires both New Jersey and New York Licensure to remain current.
  • Obtain a New Jersey CDS and federal DEA certificate upon employment if not already covered.
  • Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving.
  • Dual System Training: This role requires training and proficiency in both the Valley System EMR (Athena / Meditech) and Mount Sinai Hospitals EMR System (EPIC)

  • Cross-Site Coverage: The APP will provide cross-coverage at Mount Sinai Hospital, requiring travel to New York City a minimum of approximately one day a week.
  • Participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations.
  • Develops and maintains annually a Collaborative Agreement /Joint Protocol or Supervisory/Delegation Agreement with the Collaborating/ Supervising Physician
  • BCLS/ PALS certification
  • Maintains specialty related certifications.
