About The Position

Children's Hospital of Michigan, a nationally ranked 228-bed facility and the first and largest children's hospital in Michigan, is seeking a sixth endocrinologist to join its expanding Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. As a member of the Detroit Medical Center, CHM offers a strong environment for physicians interested in clinical excellence and academic impact, hosting one of the country's largest pediatric residency programs and multiple fellowship programs. This position offers a unique opportunity to practice high-acuity pediatric medicine with a multidisciplinary approach and engage in meaningful teaching. The role combines clinical and academic responsibilities, with inpatient and outpatient practice across clinic and hospital settings. Call is shared equitably among division endocrinologists, supported by a large, experienced team including diabetes nurse educators, endocrine nurses, dietitians, and a social worker. Regular collaboration occurs with various surgical and medical subspecialties. The position includes a faculty appointment at CHM, a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, and one of the nation's few ABA-verified Pediatric Burn Centers.

Requirements

  • Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Endocrinology.
  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Endocrinology required.
  • Eligible to obtain Michigan medical licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Combine clinical and academic responsibilities.
  • Engage in inpatient and outpatient practice across both clinic and hospital settings.
  • Conduct a minimum of 6 half-day clinics per week.
  • Share call equitably among division endocrinologists, including weekend and holiday coverage.
  • Collaborate regularly with Neurosurgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, Nephrology, Pulmonary, Hematology/Oncology, Immunology, and Gastroenterology.
  • Participate in medical education and academics.
