About The Position

The Women’s Hospital is seeking a supplemental Pediatric Echocardiogram Sonographer to join their team. This role is responsible for providing diagnostic cardiac imaging and detailed patient history and findings to the cardiologist. The sonographer will be knowledgeable of pediatric echo protocols and charging protocols for The Women’s Hospital, Deaconess Riley Clinic and Riley Hospital. They will also be knowledgeable of the process for reporting critical value readings and tracking, as well as transmitting images to on-call physicians. This position will be scheduled on an as-needed basis and requires on-call duties as needed for the department.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program OR have Echo specific experience.
• Additional job training with the Pediatric Cardiologist until approved to work independently.
• RCS is required within 12 months of hire (or completion of cross training).
• BLS is required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensures exams are performed within proper timeframe with unexpected findings reported to the Cardiologist.
• Understands processes for reporting critical value readings and tracking.
• Provides detailed patient history and findings to the Cardiologist, either verbally or by documentation.
• On call is required as needed for the department.
