Requirements
- Current Oregon Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or Expanded Functions Preventive Dental Assistant (EFPDA) certification
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS Certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, compassionate approach to working with children
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative clinical environment
Nice To Haves
- Previous pediatric dental assisting experience
- X-ray certification, as applicable
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Responsibilities
- Assist pediatric dentists during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Help children feel comfortable and supported throughout their visits
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care
- Take radiographs and other diagnostic records as permitted by Oregon regulations
- Educate children and parents on oral hygiene and preventive dental care
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
- Follow infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure efficient patient care and a positive office experience
