We are seeking dedicated and experienced Dental Assistants to join our team at Just Kids Dental. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dental care to children and adolescents. Your primary responsibility will be working in the operatory setting, assisting our dentists during dental procedures, and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our young patients. Additionally, you will be involved in sterilization procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year or more of dental assisting experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to compassionate patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric dental experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
  • X-Ray Certification
  • BLS/ CPR certification
  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification
  • Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA/ EDDA)

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during dental procedures in an efficient and effective manner via 4-handed dentistry.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and instruments for dental procedures.
  • Ensure the comfort and ease of young patients by explaining procedures and addressing their concerns.
  • Take digital X-rays and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
  • Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients and their caregivers on proper oral hygiene.
  • Travel to offsite facility (Children's Hospital) to provide chairside assisting offsite for general anesthesia cases.
  • Work collaboratively with the dental team to deliver the highest standard of care.
  • Uphold infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe operatory environment.
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed.
  • Keep up with the lab/ sterile areas well stocked.
  • Occasionally assist the front desk with patient scheduling.
