About The Position
West Coast Dental is seeking compassionate and energetic Pediatric Dental Assistants to support dentists in delivering high-quality care to children in a friendly, fast-paced environment. The role focuses on both clinical support and patient interaction, especially with children and their families. This role combines clinical dental assisting skills with patient care and education, with a strong emphasis on working with children. Success in this position requires patience, friendliness, and the ability to keep kids calm and comfortable during dental visits.
Requirements
- Dental Assistant certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with children and families
- Team-oriented with good organizational and multitasking skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a pediatric dental setting
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures (4-handed dentistry)
- Prepare, sterilize, and organize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental X-rays
- Ensure treatment rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patients
- Educate children and parents on proper oral hygiene practices
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Follow infection control, OSHA, and safety protocols
- Help manage patient flow and create a positive, child-friendly environment
