Requirements

  • Clinical Psychologist OR LICSW OR LMHC
  • Unlimited Licensure in the state of Massachusetts

Responsibilities

  • Functions independently within an integrated pediatric care model, providing comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, crisis intervention, and developmentally appropriate, time‑oriented individual, group, and family psychotherapy.
  • Delivers evidence‑based interventions tailored to children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Documents care in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Collaborates closely with pediatricians, child and adolescent psychiatrists, care managers, and community‑based providers.
  • Actively participates in multidisciplinary pediatric treatment teams.
  • Develops and oversees family‑centered treatment plans.
  • Contributes to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Conducts age‑appropriate, bio‑psycho‑social and developmental assessments for children, adolescents and young adults following referrals from pediatricians, psychiatrists, medical social workers or behavioral health clinicians.
  • Provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence‑based pediatric interventions.
  • Delivers crisis intervention services and assesses safety concerns, including risk of harm, abuse, neglect, or acute psychiatric needs, in accordance with child protection and reporting requirements.
  • Maintains a minimum utilization rate of 90% of bookable clinical hours.
  • Collaborates with pediatric primary care providers, child psychiatrists, and multidisciplinary team members to support integrated behavioral and medical care.
  • Participates in case conferences, team huddles, and multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings.
  • Supports hospitalized pediatric patients' emotional adjustment before and after discharge, assists with care transitions, and educates families regarding treatment recommendations.
  • Interprets psychiatric and behavioral health treatment plans to parents and caregivers, addressing concerns and reducing barriers to engagement and continuity of care.
  • Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of community‑based pediatric behavioral health resources, school‑based services, and social support systems.
  • Coordinates referrals to external providers and community resources as clinically indicated.
  • Supports families in navigating insurance coverage, including Medicaid, Medicare, and third‑party payers, and assists with decision‑making related to treatment options.
  • Maintains accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation in the EMR, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Prepares clinical, utilization, and quality‑related reports as needed for administrative and program evaluation purposes.
  • Partners with supervisors to identify barriers to access, improve departmental workflows, and enhance service delivery.
  • Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives and recommends policy or practice changes to improve pediatric behavioral health services.
  • Maintains licensure and clinical competencies through continuing education, with a focus on child and adolescent behavioral health best practices.
  • Provides consultation, education, and in‑service training to pediatric medical staff on behavioral health conditions, trauma‑informed care, and available services.
