About The Position

Child Health Associates is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with strong phlebotomy skills to join our pediatric team in Auburn, MA. We are a busy, well-established pediatric practice that values teamwork, respect, and creating a positive experience for both our patients and our employees. Phlebotomy will be a core function of this position. The successful candidate must be comfortable and proficient with drawing blood and have experience performing venipuncture in a clinical setting. Phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required. As a CMA, you'll work closely with providers, nurses, and fellow clinical staff to support the care of infants, children, and adolescents. Requirements

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy and venipuncture required
  • Must be comfortable performing blood draws regularly as a core responsibility of the position
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, but not required
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric phlebotomy experience strongly preferred
  • Pediatric, primary care, or outpatient clinical experience preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and blood collection as a regular and essential part of the position
  • Prepare patients for blood draws and provide reassurance and age-appropriate support to children and families
  • Properly label, handle, process, and prepare blood specimens for testing
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, height, weight, and other routine measurements
  • Perform hearing and vision screenings
  • Collect specimens and assist with point-of-care testing
  • Administer clinic-approved medications
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures
  • Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies
  • Support laboratory workflows, including specimen processing and test reporting
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and team members to support exceptional patient care
