As a Cardiac Sonographer, you’ll play a critical role in helping diagnose and monitor heart conditions, directly influencing clinical decisions and patient outcomes. You’ll work alongside cardiologists and an interdisciplinary care team, using advanced imaging technology to deliver accurate, high-quality insights that support life-saving care.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (or related field)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS (or equivalent certification)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echocardiographic techniques
  • Ability to operate echocardiography equipment and imaging software effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and patient-centered approach

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • 1–2+ years of echocardiography experience in a clinical setting
  • Experience with advanced imaging modalities (e.g., 3D echo, Doppler variations)
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based academic medical environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiograms and advanced cardiac imaging studies (2D, 3D, Doppler) to assess cardiac structure and function
  • Prepare and guide patients through procedures with clarity and empathy
  • Capture and analyze high-quality images using specialized ultrasound equipment
  • Develop clear, detailed reports for cardiologist interpretation
  • Ensure proper equipment operation, calibration, and quality controls
  • Collaborate with physicians and care teams to support comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain accurate documentation of imaging studies and patient records
