The Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer independently performs comprehensive echocardiograms, including bubble studies, stress and dobutamine echo, complex congenital echo, and pediatric echo in hospital-based and/or outpatient settings. The role also assists with specialized procedures such as ECMO evaluations and VAD studies. In Pediatrics, the sonographer performs comprehensive studies for patients with congenital and structurally abnormal hearts, including pediatric, post-operative, adult congenital, and fetal populations. This requires advanced knowledge of congenital anatomy, surgical repairs, and age-dependent physiology and supports high-acuity diagnostic and clinical decision-making. The sonographer understands the rationale for each examination, acquires high-quality diagnostic images, and provides accurate preliminary findings promptly. The role may include training other sonographers, troubleshooting as an on-site resource, supporting Joint Commission regulations and accreditation readiness, and complying with patient privacy, safety, departmental, and hospital policies. Responsibilities may change at department leadership’s discretion to meet evolving needs. For New Hampshire sites, a Medical Imaging License through the state's OPLC is required upon hire. This is a regular, onsite position scheduled for 40 hours per week on the day shift. The stated pay range is $48.00–$57.59 per hour.
