About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer II to join the CHOC Heart Institute Echo team in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves acquiring echocardiographic data using transthoracic transducer acquisition under physician supervision. Responsibilities include morphologic imaging, assessing myocardial function, recording hemodynamic parameters, and visualizing blood flow. The position may also involve performing stress echocardiographic testing and administering contrast imaging under physician direction. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • 3 years of experience
  • LIC-Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - Licensure-Others

Responsibilities

  • Applies broad range of skills to ensure exam is completed timely and meets quality and compliance standards.
  • Provides appropriate Echo testing process to patients, staff and self according to prescribed safety standards.
  • Gathers echocardiographic diagnostic images for all patients including the clinically complex patients.
  • Communicates findings to the Healthcare Team including recognition of abnormal studies.
  • Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.
