Overview To provide high quality echocardiograms for interpretation and diagnosis by a Pediatric Cardiologist. New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.
Requirements
- HS diploma or equivalent
- 5-7 years experience pediatric echocardiographic imaging with documented experience in a pediatric tertiary facility may be accepted in lieu of a degree
- One of the following required upon hire: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDCS), Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer
- Employees must obtain Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDCS) or equivalent within 365 days
- Employees must obtain Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer or equivalent within 365 days
- Current BLS certification Required Upon Hire
Responsibilities
- Perform Pediatric Echocardiography on patients in age from newborns to adults
- Provide care with consideration of patient?s age, diagnosis, psycho-social characteristics and family stressors that affect ability to understand or retain instructions. Maintain service excellence in all aspects of echo lab operations.
- Maintain efficient operations of the Echo Lab
- Demonstrate commitment to teamwork and learning
- Participate in performance improvement activities designed to improve patient care and/or organizational processes
