About The Position

HireNow Staffing is recruiting experienced Pediatric ICU Registered Nurses for Pediatric Cardiac ICU opportunities with a healthcare client in Houston, Texas. This opportunity is designed for nurses with recent acute care Pediatric ICU experience who want to contribute to the care of children with complex cardiac needs. Multiple positions are available. Requirements

  • At least one year of recent Pediatric ICU RN experience in an acute care hospital.
  • Active, unencumbered Texas RN license or an applicable multistate compact RN license.
  • Associate degree in nursing accepted.
  • For nurses without a BSN, enrollment in a BSN program within six months and completion within 24 months, consistent with the facility's stated education requirement.
  • Basic Life Support/Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within six months of employment.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support within six months of employment.
  • Has recent, hospital-based Pediatric ICU nursing experience.
  • Meets the RN licensure and nursing education requirements.
  • Can meet all certification and BSN deadlines.
  • Can work the selected shift and rotating weekends.
  • Lives in the Houston area or is a U.S.-based candidate seeking relocation consideration.
  • Meets the employer's application and former-employee eligibility rules.

Nice To Haves

  • CCRN certification.
  • Completed Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Strong candidates will be able to describe their experience recognizing changes in critically ill pediatric patients, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and communicating with families during complex care.
  • CCRN certification and examples of sound clinical judgment will strengthen consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients with cardiac care needs.
  • Perform assessments, monitor changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly.
  • Administer prescribed treatments and medications according to clinical protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the care team.
  • Support patients and families through education, communication, and care planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow patient safety and infection prevention practices.
